SHIFT aims at increasing the capacity of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to contribute to SDG by assessing and implementing ESG strategies and policies through the ESG Impact Index platform. It will equip Higher Education institutions' students, academics, researchers and staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement and monitor ESG practices and reinforcing transnational cooperation by facilitating the sharing of best practices and knowledge among HEIs.

The project partners will implement a research phase on Environment, Social and Governance strategies, define the ESG Impact Index Matrix and develop a series of mini-learning opportunities complemented by the University ESG Awareness serious game.

In addition, a Certification on ESG Impact Index in Higher Education will be created to measure the HEI's impacts on the environment and its natural resources, assess the governance practices & social impacts.

The main project result is the ESG Impact Index Open-Access Platform which is a comprehensive tool for higher education institutions to implement and monitor their ESG practices, which will be complemented by training and awareness programs, the HEI Certification Program and a series of communication activities.
